Condolences to SRAC

August 25th, 2009

The Shreveport art scene took a major hit with the loss of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council building which went up in flames from a three-alarm fire early this morning. I have worked with SRAC on projects in the past and I can only imagine what they must be going through today. It was reported that the building was a complete loss — gutted to the framework.

My sincere condolences go out to Pam Atchison and everyone at the Shreveport Regional Arts Council and I hope that they are able to recover from this devastating loss as quickly as possible.

It always seems to be like giving birth

I love designing and creating websites. Creating sites for other people isn’t really so hard most of the time. Creating a site for yourself is by far one of the toughest things you’ll ever do if you’re a designer. I’m kind of a perfectionist so what it comes down to is that if I do not push myself to get it online despite my own objections it will never get done. So  what happens is you set aside a day or two and work like a madman to try to get it done and by the end of it all you’re seeing double, but you’re also staring down at your creation now brought into this world … by pushing.

Symbolism or exhaustion? Probably both.

Not much else to say. I am trying to get this new site set up as I believe it more accurately reflects what I can do, as well as being easy to say and pass around from an URL standpoint. Can’t wait to get this thing cranked up to full volume.
